Oral cancer is usually diagnosed in advanced stages. Therefore, an earlier diagnosis can help decreasing duration of treatment and morality. AI has been widely used in all fields of science including medicine. Many studies have been conducted on the utilization of AI in the diagnosis of oral cancer and precancerous lesions. Application and performance of AI by using a variety of imaging modalities (radiologic, histologic and molecular) along with patient’s history and visual oral examination can improve early detection of oral cancer.
